For Your Safety

Absolute safety simply doesn't exist, especially when engaged in physical activities in this alpine world of ours. It is fair to say that outdoor activities and risks go hand-in-hand, risks that simply don't crop up if you simply don't engage in those activities. But by deciding to place your trust in a trained guide, you are definitely reducing those risks to a minimum.

What can you do?

Of course, we would prefer if you were in superb condition and in the best of health when you arrive here.  Each activity in alpine terrain places its own particular set of physical demands. Which means, each participant should be as objective as possible in evaluating their own abilities and choosing the appropriate tour. Here are a few things to make your decision, and your participation, a little easier:

In the Water:
Good swimming skills, good overall physical condition, healthy cardio-vascular system.

In the Mountains:
Good surefootedness, including on terrain that is off the beaten track, little if any fear of heights, good overall physical condition, healthy cardio-vascular system.

Health Aspects

If you do happen to have some physical infirmities, that doesn't automatically exclude you from participating. Please consult your doctor. If problems crop up unexpectedly, please speak openly to your guide (we can keep the conversation confidential) before the tour. The guide is responsible for the success of the tour and needs to be kept on top of things.

Insurance - in the worst case scenario and something happens, we do carry business liability insurance in the event that the guide is proven to have shown clear negligence in his/her duties.  This encompasses all activities conducted under the supervision of guides or employees working for us.

To cover you for the eventuality of any accidents resulting in damage or injury, though not due to negligence, we strongly recommend purchasing personal accident insurance, generally offered by most major insurance companies.

Mountain, Canyoning, Rafting Guides

Mountain & Ski Guides are professionals in all major areas. Hut and snowshoe hikes, mountaineering and high-alpine tours, glacier hikes and ice-fall climbs, ski tours and variant skiing, as well as canyoning tours, are professionally organized and led by them. They are your expert companions in all kinds of alpine terrain, guaranteeing you the successful nature experience you had hoped for.

Due to their extensive and on-going training, canyoning guides guarantee a high level of quality and safety, reducing the level of risk on individual tours to an absolute minimum.  Despite careful planning and guiding, however, events can still occur that simply could never have been predicted by the guide. This, again, is why each participant should be as critical as possibly in estimating their own abilities prior to beginning a tour.

All of our rafting guides are also state-certified and hold a Class B Rafting License.
