With all of our aspiring rafting guides successfully completing their training in 2009 and since we continue to need rafting guides, we plan on holding raft training again in 2010 here in Zillertal. The goal of this training is to have participants pass the licensing examination as a Rafting Guide and to gain experience on the most important rivers in Tyrol.
Theory:
- Equipment
- Basic rules for wildwater rafting incl. terminology
- Applied first aid
Practice:
- Rafting techniques incl. essential maneuvers (including riding eddies, line-ferrying)
- Correct reaction to extreme situations (flipped boats, wildwater swimming)
- Paddling and guiding of 2-man inflatable Canadians and mini rafts-knot-tying
Fee:
EUR 460,- payable prior to the start of the course without exception!
Equipment:
- Wildwater-appropriate clothing (Neoprene suit, drysuit, etc.) and helmet
- Safety life vest
- Sturdy footwear
- 2 HMS karabiners
- 1 rope spool (basic)
- 1 sling
- Watertight first-aid kit
- 2.5m bull rope • rope bag (min. 15m)
- Writing utensils
- 2 passport photos
- Driving license or confirmation of successful completion of a first-aid course (equipment can be borrowed from us for the duration of the course)
Requirements:
- Good swimming skills
- 1st-aid course
- Good level of physical fitness
