High altitude ski tour Bernese Oberland
... Ski ascent Finsteraarhorn 4274m, the highest summit of the Bernese Alps
The Bernese Oberland presents a majestic scenery of snow and rocks with breath taking views. At Concordia Plaza with an ice thickness of 900 metres, four glaciers unite to form the Great Aletsch Glacier, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ski mountaineering in this magnificent mountain world is both alpinistically and technically one of the greatest destinations in the Alps for skiers. In addition to Finsteraarhorn, the highest mountain in the Bernese Alps at 4274 metres, we will climb two further four thousand metres peaks with skis. The stunning panorama from the Concordia hut over the Aletsch Glacier framed by ski mountains is a wonder of nature that one must have seen.
