Skiing Trip to Norway - Lofoten
Pristine landscape between mountains and fjord
Lofoten is located 100 to 300 km north of the Arctic Circle in the Atlantic and is separate from the mainland. Consisting of ca. 80 islands, it is characterized by its seclusion and ruggedness. Thanks to its exposed location, ski tourers can enjoy a panorama with rugged, turquoise shorelines and mountain ridges that provide ski runs to the sea accompanied by spectacular views. During our trip, we will stay in groups in cozy fishing huts in Svolver right on the water, cook together, and enjoy the Norwegian lifestyle. We will start our daily ski tours from here. Awaiting us in the middle of these fantastic islands are first-class ski tours. Impressive mountains and slopes that drop steeply into the sea are between gentle elevations, which are excellently suited for ski tours. We will leave our tracks behind on wide slopes that lead down to white shores and into the colorful fishing village.
Day 1: Flight from Munich to Oslo and Evenes. We will then rent a bus and ride for ca. 3 hours to Solvear. This ride offers the first fascinating impressions of Norway's fjords.
Day 2-7: The next days will be full of gorgeous ski tours on the Lofoten. The tours will be suited to group ability as well as weather, avalanche, and snow conditions. With our rented bus, we will quickly reach the starting points of our ski tours, most of which begin and end right on the water. We might also rent a boat (extra cost ca. 90 Euro per person) in order to see the Trollfjord.
Day 8: On the journey home, if flight times allow, we will make a short detour to Oslo. We will bring an exciting week to an end with a tour of Norway's capital.
You should be an experienced ski tourer and able to ski on all types of snow. You must also be in shape and able to manage stages lasting up to 8 hours and short passages with crampons.
The ascent of the ski tours includes between 700 and 1300 vertical meters. On the Lofoten, there is also the opportunity to combine two summits.
