Program

Day 1: Arrival & Introduction
Arrival by 09:00 at Hotel Garni Andreas Hofer. Welcome by the mountain guides and check-in. Program briefing & distribution of equipment: avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe, avalanche backpack. Introduction to ski touring techniques, high-alpine safety, and initial assessment of snow and avalanche conditions.

Day 2: Ski Touring & High-Alpine Safety
Current weather and avalanche report. Update on avalanche knowledge & risk management for ski touring. Full-day ski tour in high-alpine terrain: setting up the ascent track, terrain assessment, and strategic route planning under the guidance of the mountain guides.

Day 3: Summit Tour & Alpine Technique
Weather and avalanche briefing. Full-day ski tour with focus on technically challenging sections, glacier crossings, and ascent to near the summit. Instruction on alpine ski technique, kick turns, and deep-snow skills in a safe environment.

Day 4: Wildspitze & Final Tour
Current avalanche situation & tour planning. Highlight of the week: guided ski tour to the Wildspitze, the highest peak in Tyrol, with breathtaking descents. Group wrap-up, feedback, and farewell. Individual departure.

FAQs

What should I bring?

If you have your own ABS backpack, avalanche transceiver equipment (is included), skis and poles, helmet. Please check prior to your tour whether your insurance includes off-piste mountain rescue. You will also receive a packing list with your booking.

Is the lift ticket included in the price?

No, you can get a valid lift pass before the meeting, or together with your mountain guide in the morning.

Is lunch included?

No, but we will have a lunch break at one of the many huts.

Do I get a discount if I bring my own equipment?

You are of course welcome to use your own equipment. Unfortunately, we cannot grant a discount as we generally provide the necessary safety equipment free of charge.

What kind of ski should I use for a freeride tour?

Ski touring equipment, Skies, Skins, Shoes, Poles, Crampons. We will be happy to advise you and you can rent the right pair of skis together with your mountain guide in the morning in one of our partner shops.
